Phil Weigand

Engineer

Phil Weigand is a hardware engineer at Shift5. He is responsible for layer 1 component integration and embedded systems development for current and future projects. Prior to Shift5, Phillip worked in a M.E.P. Architectural Engineering consulting firm on building infrastructure and subsystems, completed internships with Boeing’s satellite division and has worked on various projects from balloon satellites to ham radios. He studied electrical engineering and computer architecture at West Point. Other than building hardware to defend operational technology (OT) from cyberattack, his secret superpower is convincing others to run triathlons and marathons with him.

Our Team

Collectively, the Shift5 team includes leading cybersecurity experts, accomplished analysts and developers, military and government backgrounds, authors, pattern-makers, and more. There's a lot that makes us unique, but together, we're united around the shared vision of solving the most pressing cybersecurity issues for trains, planes, and tanks and like to have fun doing it.
